UND DANN WAR ICH NICHT MEHR
A journey into the youth of the actress Yüksel Esen from Basel. With a moving solo evening, she tells of becoming a woman and being a woman against the background of her overlapping cultures of origin. In tragicomic passages she describes the discovery of her gender, disarming the absurdity of the rules and norms that Swiss-Turkish culture constantly tries to teach her. With her autobiographical performance, Yüksel Esen finds profound, self-empowering and always humorous tones to confront the impositions of life.
"Und dann war ich nicht mehr" was awarded with the Jungsegler Newcomer Talent Prize as best production of 2023.
THE PRIVATE IS POLITICAL
Since summer 2019 Natalie Sigg, Natalie von Tscharrner and I are working together as a collective. We develop public workshops for the most diverse target groups. With theater-agogical games and methods of the Theater of the Oppressed (after Augusto Boal), we playfully discover patterns of exclusion and discrimination and bring them into social contexts.
